Brad

If I'm not mistaken you close the upper entrance as well. I always have. Slide in the IPM board and use the hand width entrance reducer.

Part of the process for this is to reduce leakage of the product since it needs to permeate through out the hive.

My hives are currently using reduced entrances, the larger of the two openings using a standard entrance reduce, to reduce robbing potential.  I note that due to heavier than air Thymol fumes, the instructions for Apigard suggest closing up screened bottom boards.  I plan to do that.

1. What are peoples' thoughts on retaining the entrance reducers or removing them during this more closed up process over the next month or so?

2. How about leaving the small top opening open in the standard inner/telescoping cover arrangement?

Temps are still pretty warm.

Thanks,

Brad
