Hey John
What kind of lid go you have?
If you have an inner cover check to see if you might have placed it on
backwards. That's one thing that could explain it. Also look for any openings
or space in the boxes.
Also do you have a top feeder? If done leak and that might be another issue.
Last idea-option and least likely, might be a queen flying back and landing
there. Her scent would bring bees there for several days.
