Congrats Walter!
some of us actually block the entrance completely for the first 24 hrs. They should stay put in their new home, but they are bees...anything is possible!
After the day inside to acclimate i put on the reducer based on the number of hives in that yard. If they are all small and starting off i don't care. If there is a big hive in the yard or near by then i keep on the smallest size til they build up. There is no issue w/ the smallest opening for a while.
good luck!

I collected a swarm tonight. My first. Got them setup with sugar water 1:1. And I put the entrance reducer on the hive for tonight set to the largest opening. Was wondering if I should leave it on or take it off tomorrow. Anything else I haven't thought of?
