Hi Carhy

Sorry to hear. If it turns out she is dead or dying your other hive may get
really packed. We spoke about this here last week.

You did the right thing for today. Check her tomorrow as soon as it warms up
some. Things will hopefully be clearer around the cage so you can see if she
is moving, but more importantly are the bees tending to her?

Are the 2 next to each other??

If so it may sort itself out as the weaker/dead queen colony may fly to the
strong one. That happened to a friend of mine.

If they are not and they are not tending to her I'd combine the two ASAP.
They have no way to make a new queen. So either you'd get a laying worker
situation or they abscond in search of another colony.

Good luck and contact your mentor ASAP. I'd consider combining tomorrow if
she's gone so to prevent a laying worker situation.

Keep us posted! I'd reach out to your supplier tomorrow as well and request a
new queen or $25 back. Take pictures as well.

Marty
