Hi All- this is directed to Todd's earlier email,
I captured 2 swarms this year- one was 1.5-2 lbs (an afterswarm I
presume since there were no eggs 10 days later) and the other was a
primary swarm (4.4 lbs- mated queen).
Are there any rules of thumb for dealing with smaller afterswarms?
It's seemed real weak and the queen wasn't laying the last time I
checked. Are these two situations related or coincidence? Should I
expect them to get more focused/build more comb once she's mated and
laying? I'm just trying to get a feel for things based on my sample
size of 2...
Best,
Blair
