Thanks Chloe for pointing this out.

Lanette...no where did i read 5 hives. Do you have another link to the study (the first of at least three i'm sure), that shows he only used 5??

So it was 20...over 23 weeks...multiple hives at different locations...sounds like a pretty surefire scientific study...for round one to me!!

It has to start somewhere...i to wish he would have used wording like "could be the cause" so to avoid the loud chatter that has come from it...so folks will stay tuned to the next round of tests. That to is how the science works....as to the level of publishing I can not speak to that but do know friends here in the RTP who have trouble getting out their finding so like all things competitive, seeing how he was an associate researcher i'm guessing its hard to get published. I do see a NEW trend in where younger scientist are using public medium sites to launch their studies...then if they get noise they are picked up. The internet can be used to your advantage in many ways...maybe this is his.

So i'm at ODDS w/ everything you said as you mis-quoted several key facts that are very obvious 5 is not 20....but i too am not a fan of Bayer. I am still surprised as to how Monsanto is still getting a pass on this issue....they are right now trying to get EPA approval for a similar product!

I agree w/ Kitty....why not put out a full on ban of the products til REAL research is done...if it's still ok after that then bring it back on line....somewhere down the road one side will have to eat crow....i hope to not be wrong because i do not know what goes with that....kale?

Thank you for your grounded and concise opinion - which I wholeheartedly share.  While I greatly enjoy the discussions and diversity of opinion, my experiences in clinical research have opened my eyes to the many ways in which data manipulations are made and presented.  As you stated, the experiments must be repeatable and conducted on a larger scale - at least for me to consider the data valid and not just inflammatory rhetoric.
