Ok, thanks for the tips and experience--maybe I'll just leave the pits in
most of the time. I stewed a few of them the other night (Sherwood) and was
happy with the altered consistency--reminded me of applesauce/chestnut/sweet
potato blend.

Are Li and Lang the best for the mid-Atlantic's humid conditions. (Lancaster
PA)? Sherwood has set very little fruit in eight years.
