I have some persimmon trees I have grown from seed and they are about 12 feet
high. No fruit yet. When should they begin bearing? And should I trim them
to make them more fruitful? Jerry in southern Indiana

OK I have finally learned how to keep the deer out of my orchard with a
peanut butter baited electric fence, but now squirrels get in and eat the
apples. Any idea how to keep them out? They can jump in from neighboring
trees. Jerry in southern Indiana.

Generally right after they bloom. That is when they are starting to make
the new blooms for the next year.
