Betsy, My Moonglow branch looks like it succumbed to blight last year, as did Monterrey. I haven't tried Potomac because in the years since it was released, no one seemed to have anything to say about it and esp about the fruit. So I figured that it was a slow and/or shy fruiter. I am more interested now after these replies. Just out of curiosity, is the rootstock still alive? You might be way ahead if you regrafted it. Or let it grow a year, and then graft another pear on it. There are lots of blight resistant ones to choose from. Donna

Does anyone have experience growing Potomac in the SE. I lost a pear
(moonglow) to blight this year and need to replace it with a desert
quality, more blight resistant variety. Potomac is one that looks like a
good candidate (fruiting time, etc) for my needs and it is available.
The Harvest Queen I ordered was not ready for this year.
