- Subject: [nafex] Persimmon propagation from cutting
- Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2012 11:43:18 -0400
I recently met a Greek man who is originally from northern part of
Greece. He grows. Few fig trees and a couple persimmon trees that
obtained as cuttings from his home town.
"here's a cutting of my Greek Persimmon" he says, but I told him that
persimmon can only be started by grafting or a seed. He insisted that
I can root it. I visited him and saw his beautiful large persimmon
trees in mid summer. He took cuttings of semi hard wood from current
season. He hammers the bottom 1 inch of the cuttings and places them
in a pot with soil. Out of 10 cuttings he gets a couple to take in a
couple months.
Have anyone tried rooting Kaki persimmon from cutting?
