I did order cuttings from 3 varieties of elderberry which I am trying to root just now. I am also thinking that the elderberry will be the best bet there. Varieties are Wyldwood 1 & 2, and Bob Gordon. Hope they are hardy here...

Black Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) does well in total shade here.
Pequot Black Raspberry, a plant I developed (and sell), does best in sun but
will produce in light shade or filtered sunlight. I am propagating a
species of Wild Blackberry that also bears in shade.
