Is the seed very flat or normal like normal persimmon seeds? If normal
looking, it likely isn't a hybrid and rescue shouldn't be needed.

Hi Dan,
Our YTD rain fall is nearly 49 inches with another month to go. Normal
annual rain fall here is about 42 inches. I just tiled part of my persimmon
orchard the first of this month. I checked the output of the 4 inch exit pipe
at
noon today and water was running out over 2 inches deep at the end. That is
a whole bunch of gallons per hour!!

Thanks Matt and Jerry,
They've been in the fridge for 3 years but were very dry. Its amazing what =
you forget about tucked down in the back of the fridge.
So I soaked them and then left the to germinate in the bag.
Got almost 100% germination and I've now planted them in a soil that's obvi=
ously to friable.
I'll keep them in really high humidity and see if I can't soften the seed c=
oats a little that way.
Obviously not keeping them a wet as I should
Thanks!
