Why shouldn't I fertilize saplings that I just planted this year? In some
cases, these are 2-year old saplings & seedlings: persimmons, paw paws,
hazelnuts, plums, etc.
I'm tempted to fertilize them now that we're getting a lot of rain these days
out here. Do I really need to wait until the spring, that they will have had
a full year to develop a root-system by then?
Thanks,
Steve (NJ 6b/7a)
