Does Nanking need a pollinator?

My experience is that it does. I had two bushes one year and got plenty of fruit, but one died and I got no fruit the next two years. This year I got a new second bush and got fruit again.

I have more than one Nanking cherry, so never needed to know this information
before, but now I need to know.....is Nanking self-fruitful, or does it need a
pollinator? I'm finding totally contradictory information on the Internet. Some
info says it is absolutely self-fruitful; other info says it is absolutely not
self-fruitful and yet other info that says sometimes it is& sometimes it
isn't. And the definitive answer is.....?
