There's a wonderful old book in the NAFEX library that describes how to
renew peaches yearly-- forgot the title but it was an old fat book.
that man even kept peaches as tall narrow trees, trimming off branches as
they bore, letting new ones take their place.
I haven't had nerve enough to try that one.
before you completely cut off an older branch, esp. this time of year, would
it be feasible to nick it in a few places, in hopes that you might get a new
sprout?
then cut it off past that point.
