I have a bunch of pears on OHxF97 in z4 Maine, clayish loam, doing very well.
Same for OHxF87.
The trees on Pyrus Communis look like crap.

If you get seedling arriving in peat moss, do whatever you can to separate
the roots from the peat moss.
Failure to do so causes the roots to stay in the peat moss, and not wander
off and grow.
I learned this, like most everything, the hard way.
