Alan, If your blackberry plants get the
distortions only on certain sprouts on a whole branch, it's rosette, a fungus
and yes, removing them helps a lot. The rosetted flowers are larger,
pinker, and often earlier, and don't make fruit. The disease is spread by
the infected flowers. Donna
