I received the following message from St. Lawrence Nurseries, saying that it was out of ‘Carmine Jewel’ bush cherries for this spring.  Looks as though they might have some plants of ‘Carmine Jewel’ and ‘Crimson Passion’ next spring. – Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn. (USDA Zone 4b)

Hello, Bill.   This is Sam Brungardt in St. Paul, Minn.  Recent postings on the NAFEX discussion group have led me to believe that you are offering either Crimson Passion or Carmine Jewel Canadian bush cherries this spring.  I couldn’t find them in your 2011 catalog.   Do you have either cultivar, and what is their price?

Tried calling but your line’s been busy.  Guess spring’s on its way, eh?

Thanks, Bill.

Hi, Sam.

We DID have a very few Carmine Jewel, but they were snapped up in the first 250 orders. The price has been  $15 each.
We're supposedly getting some tiny starts out of Canada this Spring of both Carmine Jewel and Crimson Passion, but these would need to be grown out for at least a year.

So someone should probably post that we are now out of Carmine Jewel.

Yes, it's hard to get through sometimes by phone. But looking outside today, you wouldn't think Spring is very close. Groundhog Day, but that poor groundhog is going to need a snowblower to get out of his hole!
