A friend gives me bamboo poles which I use to make green bean teepees.
I made a late planting of NK's Romano pole beans; they were 9' tall and
counting (and still producing) when they got zapped by our first frost.

one: How high will the vines grow and still produce beans? If I use a 7 ft
fence as a support, will they grow that tall and produce beans all the way
up?
Depends on the variety- some are more vigorous than others. All the ones I
grow will easily climb to the top of an 8-foot pole....I usually tie 6
poles in a teepee perhaps 4 feet wide at the base.
