Southeastern Watauga County NC.  Actually only about 6 to 8 miles from either Boone or Blowing Rock but way back in the woods - the district DOT engineer claims the portion on state road is the worst road in his area.   Mostly 1 lane with some places to pass.  Then over some private roads.   Elevation from around 4,000 to 2,300 feet.  Not exactly on the tourist track, which suits us.

Have given ACF directions to several trees over the years.  We are not up there full-time but hope to be soon.

Non fruit / nut there are alot of chestnut oak, white pine, hemlock - which the hemlock wooly adelgid is wiping out - magnolia and the other trees and shrubs one would expect.
