Thanks, but I've also been googling this, and I'm wondering about the wisdom of this scheme. Apparently, the most popular chestnut variety is 'Colossal' which, like many interspecific hybrids, is pollen-sterile. If that's what my neighbor's tree is, then they'd finally get nuts, but I wouldn't. Maybe I need to convince some more neighbors to plant chestnut trees just in case.
