I planted a C. Superba "Pink Lady" last spring because I thought the flowers were beautiful. Don't know how well it will do up here, but I can see buds greening up so it survived the winter. It would be a great bonus if it eventually fruits, but I hear it's best to cook them for jelly, etc.
I have it in a shrub border, but I am considering if it would be better off espaliered against a wall. Seems to have a very trailing habit.
Good Luck, I hope you find something that works for both of you!

My girlfriend would like a flowering quince for the ornamental flowers
and I would like to get some fruit. She claims she had one once that
fruited. Anyone have advice on combining ornamental flowers with fruit
production in a quince??
Best,
Jay

Can anyone share their experience growing _Cyperus esculentus_?
How large do the tubers get?
What are it's cultural requirements,etc.?
Has there been any breeding/selection work with this taxon?
