Jim,

Do they mean a soft drink? Couldn't you make a chokecherry syrup, or a
chokecherry syrup blend, and stir it into seltzer or club soda? I don't
know how many people you'd be serving, but you could buy a case or more.
You could pour out a bottle and mix with the syrup, pour it back in, and
twist the lid back on to hold the carbonation. I'd try different
proportions first; maybe 8:1 and add more syrup to taste?
If you want to mix the chokecherry with another flavor, like cola, you might
want to check out the syrups and flavor concentrates at Prairie Moon.
I have a carbonator from SodaClub. We make sodas with fruit juice
concentrate or syrups. Runs us about 17 cents per litre for the sparkling
water. Not necessarily appropriate for what you're doing, but this made me
think of it - a nice investment for people who like bubbly water/sodas.

Subject: [NAFEX] Chokecherry Soda-pop question

The local Lions Club hosts a Chokecherry Festival every year and I've
been asked to invent a carbonated beverage using chokecherries but I don't
know how to start. Can anyone help us out?
