Jim,
The Bt stuff intended for topical application, as well as the gene
segments coding for the Cry protein, utilized in transgenic corn,
cotton, etc., are pretty specific for activity against only the larval
stages of moths(Lepidoptera) and beetles(Coleoptera).
There's been no evidence, in the lab or in the field, to indicate that
bees, wasps, hornets(Hymenoptera) - either adults or larvae - are
impacted in any significant way by use of Bt or transgenic crops
containing Bt genes.
