You might try introducing some Guinea Fowl. I'm told they will chase away anything, including fox, but they are loud.

Speaking of rats the size of cats, I notice big ones in my chicken pen
but I have no idea how to get them out without endangering the
chickens & ducks.  Poison or rat traps wouldn't work.
