My parents live about 50 miles too far north to grow Key limes. They had a permanent 8x8x8' frame of pipe around their tree, and when it was going to get really cold (for central Florida) they'd put a heater in there and tie tarps on the frame. They had good crops off that tree for about 15 years, till a bad freeze got it and it never really has recovered. Usually with citrus if you can keep the graft from freezing, the tree will grow back up and be back in action in 2-3 years. Donna
