Alan,
Don't forget a vegetable garden requires more
alkaline than acid loving fruit crops.. If you try to adjust the soil for
blueberries, the vegetables may suffer.
Gypsum is Calcium sulfate which is good, as, at
least it's pH neutral. You probably want to add these minerals in the
sulfate form to avoid raising the pH further. Magnesium sulfate may be a
good way to add Mg.
We have at least one real soil scientist on the
list. Interesting to hear his comments.
I am curious how high sodic soils can be low in
Na?
