I figure that the victoria limbertwig probably tastes better in it's native southern Appalacians. Whether it does or not, if you don't like it then you need to just topgraft the tree to something you do like. It's easy, and absolutely guaranteed to give you the tree you want if you gather the scions yourself. There are so many ways that buying a tree can go wrong. Someone else likes the fruit and describes it, maybe you would describe it differently. Then there is the problem of mislabeling. Someone describes a nice apple which has the wrong name on it. You order the real thing, but it's not the same. Or you order a tree you like and they send you the wrong tree. Or it's on the wrong rootstock. Or it's a nice apple but not in your climate or your soil. Skip all that, find a local tree you really like and graft from it. Donna
