- Subject: [NAFEX] Larva in Pear limb
- Date: Sun, 14 Sep 2008 10:32:41 -0400
I noticed that on a lower small limb on my pear tree(name unknown at the moment) all the leaves had turned dark brown, almost black. I pruned it off, and in the hollowed branch was a larvae of some sort; grossed me out as I had already cut it in half with the pruners, so I did not examine closely.
I see no other sign of die-back; should I be checking the bases of my trees for borers of some kind?
Thanks,
Karen
