Jim,

Perhaps it is where you live. I certainly remember seeing hops growing wild
back when I was growing up in Missouri. Last summer we went on a weeklong
marathon germplasm collecting trip through Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and
into Minnesota (flew in to Kansas City and flew out of the twin cities 2500
miles later). While we didn't see hops everywhere we went, we certainly did
find wild hops growing in many different locations in all of those states.
