Skunks eating bees is more of a spring problem, when the skunks are just
awake and hungry. An old beekeeper's remedy: Cover the hive's entrance
with a sloping piece of large mesh hardware cloth. Now, when the skunk
tries to get a snack, his thinly-covered belly is right over the entrance,
allowing the guard bees to have maximum effect.
