- Subject: [NAFEX] tent caterpillar and fall webworm
- Date: Mon, 2 Jun 2008 04:00:00 -0400
Here in the northeast tent caterpillars are a spring thing, emerging a week or 2 before petal fall. Fall webworm usually emerges during mid to late summer- I don't think they picked the name. The tents do considerably more damage in unsprayed trees and the choke-cherries on the edge of my property get completely defoliated while the much smaller webworms don't tend to go beyond their starting branch.
