This is stock water. They go through gallons in a day. Shallow pan with
bricks will not do for them. There is also water running in the garden
(corrugates) most of the time. (Idaho high plains desert) That water is
shallow. I have lots of bees and other bugs.
The seed alfalfa raisers put out big bee boxes for mason bees in their
fields and I have seen hives placed in some of the commercial orchards.

When honeybees drink water, they are bringing the water back for the
brood. To prevent them from drowning, I keep water in shallow pans with
bricks and rocks because the bricks and rocks give them more to cling to
when they are drinking than just the (usually slippery) rim of the pan. If
you would do likewise, provide water for local honeybees, you might attract
more pollinators to your orchard.
