- Subject: [NAFEX] Melons, anyone?
- Date: Mon, 19 May 2008 08:52:19 -0500
When I grow cantaloupe, the wire worms, as they are called here (Click Beetle Larva), burrow into the melons from the bottom making them unsellable and partially inedible.
I don't have the problem anymore because, now, just as soon as the melons are big enough, I insert them into plastic ice cream buckets - it works best when the buckets are on their sides. I tried boards, newspaper, metal, all to no avail; the only thing that works (for me) is plastic ice cream buckets.
