Lisa,

In Zone 6 you will probably havesome issues if you don't spray anything.  Got to http://www.canr.msu.edu/vanburen/organasp.htm and you will find a good, but simple organic spray program with a schedule for spraying and what to spray.  Pick up the spray program at petal fall and go from there.  The fruit tree spray you used is probably a broad spectrum spray that includes several products.  You can keep using that or Mark's recommendations on the Organic Program.  Hope this helps.

Subject: [NAFEX] spraying orchard- zone 6

I realize that this subject has probably been discussed at length before, but since I am a new member I would love some advice.  I have a small orchard of about 35 trees that range between 5-10 years old. The trees are semi-dwarf, with the exception of 2 standard plums.
The trees are apples, peaches, sour cherries, plums and one pear.  I did a dormant oil spray in late March.  I have done no other spraying this year.  In the past I have sprayed with a "fruit tree spray" about once a month.  I would love to not have to spray at all, but I have been told, and I have read, that spraying is necessary for fruit.
Since I am late this year with applying any spray, what should I do? Should I start a spray program and if so, with what? Most of the trees are now in leaf, the blooms are done.    Or, should I take my chances and not spray?    I use the fruit for home use only. I preserve and can what I can.  Eat fresh and cook with the rest.  Thanks in advance for any help. Lisa
