Adrian:

I am sure you know that muscadine vines are shallow rooted and spread far and wide rather rapidly. Twenty feet is wide is almost double as most I've seen are planted 12 feet or so apart. If it does not interfere with your mowing, then you must think as to whether you need to do any spraying of the muscadines. I used to not do any, but now I have Japanese beetles so I spray with Sevin; which is very short residual so should not interfere with the asparagus picking. I do not know if you would ever use fungicides, but likely only for the ripening fruit so asparagus picking may be over by then. Somebody else may weigh in on this also.
I forget where you are located zone wise. Zone 8 may require more spay activity than zone 7 where I am.

Can anyone think of a reason why I would not want to put asparagus
between my rows of muscadines? The muscadine trellises are 20 feet apart
and oriented north-south.

TIA,

Tony
