- Subject: [NAFEX] Peach Pits
- Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2008 10:22:11 -0600
When I plant peach pits here in zone 3, I place them in loose soil just before the ground freezes. When they come up, I dig each out and move them to a permanent site.
When I first started my peach growing project, I handled seed using the accepted method and wound up with alot of seedlings that couldn't handle the Winter. Now I save myself alot of time and frustration because planting them in Fall weeds out the weak. The ones that can't survive a zone 3 Winter don't germinate.
