That's a great list. The references to Cornell's collection is helpful, but
unfortunately Cornell seems to have made these books available in a very
user-unfriendly way, so that you can only download them a page at a time (at
least, I have not been able to figure out how else to do so). Fortunately
there are other sources on the internet for old books in which they are
available complete as PDF files (though you will need a high speed
connection). One is Google Books, and another is located at the following URL:
http://www.archive.org/details/texts
Between these two I have found all sorts of classic books on fruit growing,
by authors such as Hyde Bailey and Hedrick et al. I just downloaded Thomas's
The book of the apple from the latter address, and plan to see if any of the
other works are available.
