Home-made wooden ones, either with nails driven in the ends and the heads clipped off and sharpened or V-shaped notches cut into them.
They stay in the trees even with the massive storm we had a few weeks ago.
Wilson Orchard & Vineyard Supply @ http://www.wilsonirr.com sells them if you don't feel like making them.

Hello Clan;
I used some of the metal limb spreaders from Miller last year.
This year, I mowed 3/4 of them while the other 1/4 were still in the tree.
Something tells me I put them in wrong; maybe not enough pre-load ???
Does anyone have a favorite Brand of these?
PS Still no Entomosporium on the Amelanchier !!
