Here's a basic rule of thumb for apples that we have on our U-Pick brochure:

1 bushel = 42- 44 lbs. or 126 - 132 medium size apples
1/2 bushel = 20 - 24 lbs. or 60 - 72 medium size apples
1 peck = 10 - 12 lbs or 30 - 36 medium size apples
1/2 peck = 5 - 6 lbs. or 15 - 18 medium size apples

2 large apples = 1 lb.
3 medium apples = 1 lb.
4 small apples = 1 lb.

Approximately 2 - 3 lbs. of apples are needed for a 9" pie.

Hope this helps!

How many (grocery store size) apples to the bushel, or how many per peck? Thanks.
