I haven’t been tempted to try it.  The mature fruits are said to be seedy and tasteless, while less mature fruit can be cooked whole in place of chopped (or extremely miniature) eggplant.  Since eggplant have a better flavor, and there are nifty miniature ones, I think I can get by without this.  But people do like it as a decorative climber.
