Hélène,

Crawford lists Howgate Wonder as a cooking apple: large, round-conical, pale green flushed brownish red, striped red, greasy; flesh pale cream, quite sharp, juicy, flavour pleasant; cooking quality - keeps shape, also used for juice; high vigour, spreading, heavy cropper; Blenheim Orange x Newton Wonder. From Isle of Wight, UK, 1915. Ripens early October, partially self-fertile, blooms Day 12.
