Hallo Michelle,
it seems, you have a real little zoo - at night - inside your garden...
Anyhow, we and many other countries at the world, have also your raccoons (import from USA),
rabbits and squirrels. Groundhogs only at our mountains.
Our only chance to stop them, is fencing. Against rabbits even a little inside the soil.
Our large deers do not pass 2m fences, but our wild sheep need 2,20m or 2,40m.
Jerry's peanut-butter-electrical-fence-idea is too nice and creative - indeed!
Only an electrical fence is used against wild bores. Hunters are using also very few human-hairs against them.
Very sure, but only a short period.
Many mice do not like empty bottles-sounds due to the blowing wind and bottles inside the ground.
Many do not like special Euphorbia plants growing in the same garden, But all mice and sandhogs do not
like little sound-generators inside the garden-soil. One per normal garden.
In Germany our martens are controlling our squirrels 100%ly and martens and foxes and goshawks are controlling
often - but not always our rabbit populations.
I think, because of this martens, squirrels do not love cats at all!
ciao

I'd love to hear other creative solutions for deterring wildlife.
What works to keep raccoons, rabbits, groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks at
bay?
(Deer are another chapter altogether).
Do you have any "tried and true" methods for those of us living in suburbia
where critters are increasing and legal options are not? Michele Stanton

I keep hearing about people with squirrel problems and wonder why they put up with the dastardly critters. I used to tickle their behinds with my B-B gun and that worked really good. I never killed any but they sure took the hint.
I have now retired my B-B gun because I got a 'junkyard' cat who loves squirrel over his dry cat food.
