Granted winds don't make much difference to the low temperature
reached by tree parts, but:
There is sometimes a problem with trees drying out in cold winter
winds, as with sour cherry fruit buds. Frozen trunks and branches
don't supply water well. Windbreaks are thought helpful to prairie orchards.
