Michele,
I have grown Naranjilla several times. I treat it more as an annaul. Also
I am using it as an ornamental. It has huge fuzzy leaves with a purple cast.
I think it would fruit better if held over for a year since fruit production
wasnt that great the first year. There are a few other species that may be
more productive for using as an annual. It seemed to do better in the ground
than in a pot. Limbs were always breaking when potted. The plant lost a
little apppeal to me after I saw it growing as a noxious weed in Costa Rica.
