- Subject: [NAFEX] thinning grapes
- Date: Wed, 28 Jun 2006 07:21:56 -0400
My grape vine has set fruit for the first time in ~5 years. It seems to have about 10 clusters of seed-sized fruits. The vine is not large, as I keep it pruned to cover an archway.
Should I remove some of the clusters? How close together can they be, or do you prune grapes differently?
(I'm surprised to notice the baby clusters mostly extend upward from the vine. Who knew?)
Thanks,
