Shouldn't be a concern unless you've got lots of cow manure from heavily grain-fed cattle coating your orchard floor - though I guess there was that one case where they traced the source to unpasteurized cider made from drops presumably contaminated by deer feces.
But my apricot has dropped a significant percentage of fruit, and though some of it is damaged and ruined, some seems perfect. If I would can the fruit (sugar syrup, hot water (boiling?) water bath) would it be ok to use them that way?Yes. 160 degrees F will pretty effectively kill any E.coli.
