Been there, done that. The Loop is even more fun when the peaches are ready, though the late cherries and early peaches overlap some as there are a couple of cherry growers at the highest altitudes that pick in August.
One caution, DON'T spend the day eating cherries the way the author did (or claims to have) unless you are ready to spend several hours with the worst gas you ever had.
