Permthrin's are very hard on beneficial insects, and this effect is supposedly more pronounced the later in the season they are used. Hence, they are not labeled for use into the summer. The organophosphates, as poisonous as they may be to us mammals, are less persistently repellent to "good guys" in the orchard.
