Our neighbors across the street have had guinea fowl for 15 years or more.
Usually they cross the road and make a tour of our yard and orchard area once
or twice a year, and we often hear them screeching or what ever you call
their cry. They haven't lost many to coyotes, fox, or other critters, even
though we do have fox, coyotes, fishers, and other interesting creatures in
our neighborhood. We live at the edge of a small city where suburbia is
encroaching on small farms.
The neighbors originally got the guineas because of ticks, but I haven't
asked them their opinion of using them for tick control in years.
